Ms. Uebelhoer: You were beyond a doubt one of the best teachers I had in my 23 years of formal education. You not only had mastery of the material and excellence of presentation, but very importantly love for your students. You were very influential in my life and thinking. Beyond that, you opened my eyes to the plight of women and sensitivities to those who are the victims of the scourges of inequality. Thank you!

At the end of August, 2016 - Scot Mertz brought her memorabilia and files for me to store until they can go to IPFW. She and I were personal & Facebook friends and I treasure being able to kindly hold her files and memorabilia in our home till they can go to IPFW. It helps me keep closer to such a wonderful person. As president of PFLAG - Fort Wayne, I know and appreciate her concerns and caring thoughts for all people.

Happy Birthday Joan. I sure miss you, but I have very many happy memories of you. Nelson Mandela just died. I know he was a hero of yours, and mine as well.

Rest in peace Joan. You certainly earned it. I learned a lot from you when you were the Controller of Fort Wayne PTC and I was your payroll/employee benefits/purchasing.

Remembering you, Joan.

One wise woman. When I'm dispirited in my cause, I think of Joan and I get going! Her inspiration: courage, justice, voice, action! Met her only a few times. Still think of her often.
