A lifelong family friend who experienced the good and bad times with us. My dear friend, Joan, you will be truly missed. God Blessed us with you. May your family find peace in the warm memories of others.

My heart goes out to family and friends, but especially to Taryn. Their bond was secured by love and similar interests keeping them forever close. You are blessed to have many memories to cherish.

I saw Mrs. Walker last April at Zion Baptist Church. We talked for a little, and it was so good to see her, since it had been some years. I ended our conversation with, good seeing you - in which she replied, it's good to be seen. I loved seeing her, in her element, at Zion. At times she was no-nonsense and other times she had you laughing so hard, that your sides hurt. And for the most part, if you were at Zion, Taryn was there also. Joan, I hope you know that you touched my life...

So grateful for the kind and sweet lady Joan was. So glad I knew her. May God's blessings be upon the family during this bereavement period. May the fond memories you all have of Joan soon bring peace and comfort to your hearts.

Joan was my neighbor, friend and co-worker at john Tyler Community College
for 20 years. We shared many conversations on our way to work. She was the good Samaritan ....she had a car; I didnt. I moved to Florida but we stayed in contact with each other. I am going to miss her sorely.

I've known you all my life and will miss you my friend, RIP.
