Joan and I graduated together from John Harris High School in 1952. I was tremendously proud to learn that she was a very popular and influential teacher at John Harris. So sorry to learn of the passing of Mrs. Wels. She was a lovely lady and even a better teacher. I was in her Algebra class as a junior at John Harris in 1970-71 school year and then she was my homeroom teacher in my senior year 1971-1972. I tried often searching online to find her just to say "Thank you Mrs. Wels." You were a favorite. Rest in peace dear lady.
