Not sure what to say?

Joan taught at Dallas DeVry and I taught at Chicago DeVry. My wife worked with her sister Sindhu. We met at many faculty conferences. I was dean of the electronics and Computer Technology Program and retired after 40 years. My brother lives in Dallas and we were invited to a surprise party for him. Leah was working at Discover Card and told Sindhu about the great deal she got on an airfare to Dallas--next thing we knew, we were on the plane and Sindhu was three seats over. When we got to...

I first met Joan at a DeVry faculty event in Atlanta. I started talking to her, and before I knew it, I was adopted into the Dallas Math family! What a great person. As her friend Shelley put it, "a force of nature!"
She was always willing to help me, even though I lived and worked in another state, when I was wrestling with the best way to approach teaching a stats class. And all the time, I never knew the battle she was waging against cancer. I will miss her.

So sorry for the loss of your wife and mother. The last time I saw Joan was in the spring at a band function at the high school. Since my daughter was in kindergarten (and I joined and worked on PTA with Joan) and Tika was thus in 2nd grade, I had the opportunity to run into and chat with Joan at various school events/functions over the years. She was a take-charge kind of person, and she always stepped up to the plate something to be admired. There is a sense of comfort and security in...

Joan was an exceptional teacher who taught me algebra and was a wonderful friend. She had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed. She was always there when you needed her . God be with you and keep you!

God Bless You.

DP and Tika ,my heart is broken by the loss of our dear Joni If it would have not been for her hard work and effort helping my children in school I don't know what we would have done. Even though we moved to Atlanta , the thought of Joan was always in my heart .Geoff and the kids and I have many fond memories of her kindness. She will greatly be missed. Love you Joni

Will miss you

One of the best teachers I ever saw. And the way Joan could make people laugh will be remembered always. I will miss you, Joanie!

I remember Joan fondly as an energetic and intelligent student in my classes at UTDallas. My sympathies.
