Joan Widmer passed away in San Diego, California. The obituary was featured in San Diego Union-Tribune on September 9, 2009.
It was a shock for me to learn that Joan was ill and in hospice. I have known her for many years from weekly 5 o'clock cocktails with Joan's husband Ben and my Felix. We also enjoyed playing Bridge together along with the Investment club. I am so sorry to know I will not be seeing my wonderful friend for awhile. She truly added pleasure to my life.

I am so blessed to have known "Bubbles" from our Bible Study. She was such a gift to all and will be remembered greatly. We will miss her until we meet again! Sincere condolences to her family.
