Not sure what to say?

Diane,
I thought your mom was such a special lady!! We became friends when I worked at Belk's on two different occasions. She always treated me like a daughter and was interested in my future. Even though she was a no-nonsense lady, her sense of humor was keen!! You could always count on her to make light of a situation!!

Sharing in your sorrow, Diane!

With love,
Sharon Waddell Johnson

Joan was a very special woman. When Al and I were in western NC, we often visited with her. I recall one Halloween, she was in her Hallmark store, her hair was colored black to match her costume. Her personality was a deight. We also enjoyed Thanksgiving Dinner at the Woodfield Inn, on a few occasions. A very special woman indeed. I am blessed to have known her. May your treasured memories be a blessing to all of you

Sorry to here as I knew since childhood and a great friend to my mother...Condolances to Bill and Diane

Joan was a great mentor to me in the early days of my fashion career. She was a hard working lady that handled everything with finesse, fairness and humor. She was as chic as she was a business woman...she will be missed but never forgotten.
