Joane Marie Wilson

Joane M. Wilson, 83 of Thomasboro, died at 6:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Park Cemetery, Rantoul.

Visitation will be two hours before the service on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville.  Baier Family Funeral Services, Flatville is handling arrangements.

Joane was born November 25, 1941, in Urbana the daughter of Ekke and Anna Johnson Flessner.  She married Eddy R Wilson November 21, 1970, in Rantoul.  He preceded her in death April 9, 1989.

She is survived by two sons, Greg (Rhonda) Wilson of Thomasboro, Todd (Tammy) Wilson of Thomasboro; five grandchildren, Tyler (Brynn) Wilson, Allyssa (Scott) Wilson, Ashley (Justice) Long, Kaylie (Tyler) Brenner, Adam Wilson, four great grandchildren Hunter Wilson, Oliver Long, Auden Long, Elodie Brenner and a brother Clarence “Hans” Flessner of Rantoul.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Robert Flessner.

Joane graduated from Rantoul Twp. High School in 1958.  She retired as a dental assistant and had worked for Dr. Hewitt.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville.  She enjoyed playing dominos with her friends.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
