The couple made their home in Estherville where they began raising their family. JoAnn along with being a homemaker attended Estherville Junior College. She was employed at the Iowa Department of Human Services in the Estherville office for 20 years, a job which she truly loved and excelled at. Later she was employed by the Estherville School District, Iowa Lakes Community College as a custodian and also Holy Family Hospital in the Housekeeping Department until retirement. JoAnn loved working in the public and was very outgoing and a joy to be around. In her leisure time she enjoyed going for rides and being in the outdoors. JoAnn and Keith were known to stop by McDonald's for an ice cream cone in their travels about Estherville and Emmet County. She loved dogs, especially Golden Retrievers and also country music. Following both of their retirements, JoAnn and Keith enjoyed a morning ritual, starting out with breakfast on the town. JoAnn's greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family and she also loved visiting with friends, over a can of Diet Dr Pepper. Keith died November 18, 2007.
