My mother, Beth McAlpine Warner, was a lifelong friend of Joann. Condolences from our family to yours.

Dear Gayl and Roger,
My deepest sympathies go out to you at this time. While I met your mom only one time, I felt that I knew her well through her annual Christmas card and letter to my Mom, her "Chicago" first cousin, Elizabeth.

I had the pleasure of having Mrs. Athey as my 5th grade teacher at Angling Road Elementary from '77 - '78. I still remember her taking our class out behind the school and helping us identify birds and various other species and their sounds. Her passion and commitment to her students will not be forgotten. Thank-You for everything, Mrs. A!

I am so sorry to hear this news. Roger, you and I were best friends for many years on Maple Ridge..I can remember the trips you, your Mom and I took to the woods, the beach and generally just exploring.. great times for a couple 6 year olds! I know she will be missed, but I...

Roger,Gayl and Family ,
I have very good memories of your Mother as a teacher who made a difference.I was blessed to have her as my Teacher. My prayers and condolences are with you, your Mother and your family during this time.
Best Regards

Roger,
Sorry to hear about your Mom. She was a nice lady and a great teacher. Even though she knew me as a student she still let you hang out with me!

Gayl, Roger, I remember how kind your Mom was to us as kids, living next door on Mapleridge. What a wonderful life she lived! Barbara Vickery Archer, Plano Texas
