GLENS FALLS --- JoAnn Hicks, 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at her home, per her wishes.


JoAnn was the beloved wife of Ernest “Jack” Hicks. They had spent 57 years together, leaving their beloved children behind; Angelique, Heidi, Jennifer (Mark), and Jack. JoAnn had 27 grand and great-grandchildren. 


JoAnn was an avid animal and nature lover. 


JoAnn was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Ethel (Garrow) Bombard. She has a surviving sister, Nancy York; two brothers, Kenneth and Kevin Bombard; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.


There will be a private ceremony at a later date, per her request.


The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the C. R. Wood Cancer Center and Dr. Mason and his special loved nurse, Barbara.

On the anniversary of her death I just wanted to say Joann was a great light in this world. Her sense of humor kept us all laughing and happy at work and she is and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

RIP sweet Joann !! You were always warm and funny when we worked together at the TOQ. Sending condolences to Ernie, Jack and her family !! She will be sorely missed , Irma Hamblin

She and Jack were such great friends and neighbors to our dad, Rev. Gerald Matson. They brought him meals. Snowblowed the walks and kept an eye on him. So sorry for the families loss.

Joanne was a wonderful coworker. She was always making people laugh. I'll always remember her calling me Ave Maria. She will be dearly missed.

Joann was a wonderful and Kind woman. We meet at the CR wood Cancer Center. I fell in love with this lady. She was strong and determined. I will miss her a great deal. Let your memories comfort you at this time. Sorry for your loss!! Barb Moehringer RN
