JoAnn Marsh

MANSFIELD: JoAnn Marsh, 68, passed this life on Saturday, May 30, 2015 in Riverside Hospital in Columbus after a brief illness.

Mrs. Marsh was born to the late Charles W. and Nellie (White) Fletcher in Mansfield and had been a life long resident. JoAnn retired from Thermo-Disc in 2010 after 34 years of service. She was a member of the Mt. Hermon Baptist church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, a member and past president and secretary of the Sanctuary choir, and member of the CWWD where she also served as the first president when the ministry was originated. In recent years JoAnn regularly attended the First Baptist Church of Willard, Mansfield Campus, and the Shiloh Baptist Church. JoAnn loved to praise and lift up the name of the Lord and did so with her tambourine.

JoAnn is survived by three children: Cynthia (Joseph) Gamble, Lafayette, Indiana, Darrin (Rose Mary) Marsh and LaWanda (Marlon) Goolsby, Mansfield; nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren; four sisters: Rosie Smith, Christine Taylor, Gloria Owens, Mansfield, and Geraldine (Wilbert) Hall, Montgomery, Alabama; sisters and brothers-in-law: Bobbie Marsh, Ashland, Elizabeth Adkison, Larry (Viola) Marsh, Jarvis and Bessie Marsh, Mansfield, Annie Weaver, Detroit, and Ben (Gloria) Marsh, Conyers, Georgia; two special friends: Ernestine Shelby and Carolyn Adkison, Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Regina Dixon, Mansfield.

In addition to her parents; JoAnn was preceded in death by custodial parents, William and Rosie Sandford, and Edward and Marie Martin; her husband of 44 years, Willie; three siblings, Dorothy Haliburton and James and Sam Fletcher.

Homegoing services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Oasis of Love Church with Pastor Jeffrey Jones, presiding and Bishop Williams Morris, Jr. delivering the eulogy. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. till time of service. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at their home from 5-8 p.m. daily till the day of service.
