JoAnn K. Valletta, 88, of Palmer Township, formerly of Wind Gap, PA, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus. She was the wife of the late Angelo (Val) Valletta.


JoAnn was born in Plainfield Township, PA on March 1, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mayme (Buchanin) Santee.


She was a 1955 graduate of Bangor Area High School. JoAnn worked for many years at Merchants Bank in Wind Gap and A&H Sportswear in Pen Argyl. She also worked part-time at H&R Block and Country Meadows prior to retiring.


JoAnn was a member of the U.R.W. Club, a local Pinochle Club and a Knitting club for over 50 years with the same core group of friends. She absolutely loved the beach and traveled to many destinations around the world. She enjoyed spending time with family and her grandchildren, who referred to her as “Grammy”.  She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking, and when time allowed, to read a good book or watch a good movie.


JoAnn is survived by daughter Nancy Suter, son Dan Valletta and her three grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew and Alyssa. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Charlotte Bone and Lois Reto.


Services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the Ruggerio Funeral Home, LLC, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl. Calling hours will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am.  Interment will be at St. Roch’s Cemetery, West Bangor.
