Not sure what to say?

JoAnn was a friend, mentor, pilgrim, and fellow traveler. As soon as I read of her passing, I wanted to ask her what it was like where she now was. I wait expectantly. I loved JoAnn. Donna, I am so sad for you to have lost your life partner.
Warmly,

JoAnn was a very important part of the MSU College of Nursing. She added a unique dimension to the faculty as well as teaching and building the mental health experience for the students. She will be remembered by many students and faculty and be greatly missed.

I knew JoAnn at St. Vincent's and remember her as a very intelligent, thoughtful person and nurse. I knew she would accomplish much and only sorry I have not kept in touch . Her obituary says so much but I am not surprised . She has definitely dealt with life in a very meaningful way and must be at peace in God. Joan Falke McGinnis .

I first met JoAnn in the early 1980s. She was a wonderful friend and I was deeply saddened to just learn of her death. She provided a quiet and non-judgmental love, and was as patient as the day is long. What a remarkable career she had, on top of being such a wonderful friend. I love Donna Hardenberg as well and know this must be very hard for all of you in her family.

JoAnn greaduated a year before I did. She was a kind, unassuming person. It doesnt surpise me that she inspired someone to become a nurse. What a wonderful tribute.

I knew Joann for such a short time but learned very quickly of her sense of humor and her willingness to take care of others. I am blessed to have known her. Charlene (Book club member)

Dear Ellie and family, I am very sorry at the passing of your sister. I know it is very difficult to work through. There must be many wonderful memories for you in your relationship with her. The thoughts at first are those of extreme loss and it is very painful. Take your time and go at your own pace. Love, Evelyn Zickes

We have not seen JoAnn for a number of years, but we have fond memories of spending time with the Westrick girls in Toledo. She was a very accomplished woman and had a long and fruitful life and leaves her family with many fond memories.

My Aunt JoAnn (My God mother) inspired me to become a nurse and I have been working in the Mercy (St. V's) system for 32 years. My Aunt was the most unassuming and non-judgemental person I have ever known. Never would she tell you what to do, but would guide you in the direction to discover the right answers for yourself . I will miss her dearly, but I know that she has been set free . Becky Vascik Moorman
