I HAD THE PLEASURE OF ATTENDING HER WEDDING AS AN EIGHT-GRADER WITH MY PARENTS FRANK AND LUCY (AUNT MARY'S SISTER) KOVACK. WHILE IN THE SERVICE DURING WW-2 SHE VISITED OUR FAMILY IN ILLINOIS. SHE BROUGHT US A GIFT OF A BOX OF HERSEY CANDY BARS WHICH DURING THE WAR YEARS WAS CONSIDERED AS 'GOLD'. HER AND AIME RAISED A WONDERFUL FAMILY. RIP...

Joanna was my paternal aunt. I am very grateful that I had the good fortune of visiting with her while on one of my infrequent visits to Michigan a few years ago. I will always remember her for her irrepressible spirit and her love of life and family. I send my love to Kris, Joe and Peg.

I hired into Checker through Mrs. Hart, She was a beautiful person, always a joy to talk with when ever I ran into her in Parchment. She'll be greatly missed!

We are deeply sad to learn of Joannie's
passing. She was a beautiful spirit and
