Joanne Budd Obituary
ALEXANDRIA: Joanne "Jo" Budd, 75, of Alexandria, Ohio, passed away, Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, after a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma cancer. She is the daughter of the late Walter and Ruth Hickok, of Ostrander, Ohio.
Mrs. Budd served as a 4-H leader for 19 years. She was active in the Alexandria Baptist Church as a member, organist, and Sunday School and Bible School Teacher. She also sang in the choir at the church. She sang many times as a soloist for weddings and funerals.
Mrs. Budd was a graduate of the Ostrander High School in 1954. Attended Otterbein College and later worked in the Science Dept. for many years.
Joanne is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Budd of Alexandria; two children, Jeff Budd of Alexandria, Janice Luft of Yorkshire; four grandchildren, Michael and Amanda Budd of Alexandria, Paul and Erin Luft of Yorkshire; sister, Joyce Waggamon of Delaware, many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH. There will be a 10 a.m. funeral service on Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Alexandria Baptist Church, 92 W. Main St., Alexandria, OH, with Pastor Larry Stewart officiating, burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Alexandria, OH.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Joanne to the Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma Association Society, 5540 Salmouth St., Suite 101, Richmond, VA 23230. An online memorial will be located at www.cksammons.com.

I am so very sorry for your loss. She was an inspiration and had an impact on myself as a 4-H member in her club for years. She instilled a love of 4-H that I've passed on to my children.

Dear Jim and Family: Our family is thinking of you at this time. We (and my parents) had such wonderful times at the Hartford Fair showing steers, playing cards, etc with Jo. She was such a positive and upbeat person. She will be missed by all.
