KRUPP, Joanne Simpson, of Moseley, Va., departed this life on January 18, 2009. She was an RN who worked throughout her life taking care of those in need, and was loved and cherished by all who knew her. The celebration in Heaven is tremendous as she is welcomed by those who journeyed home before her: her parents, Andrew and Louise Simpson; brothers, Michael and Gary Simpson; and a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Guss. Joanne is survived by her loving husband, Terry Krupp; daughters, Amy and Hillary Guss; stepchildren, Bryan Krupp and Sarah Snider; grandchildren, Amber Carter, Jordan Ramsey, Gabby Carter and Jonah Snider; and her beloved companion pictured with her above, Ozzie. The family extends thanks and appreciation to the staff and management of Southerland Place in Salisbury, where Joanne was cared for during the last six months. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, at 3 p.m. at Manakin Episcopal Church. The family asks that in lieu of sending flowers, donations are made to the Alzheimer's Association.
This obituary was originally published in the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Uncle Terry, my prayers are with you and Joanne. Your time together was too short, but the love you shared was evident to all who saw you together. There is no doubt that Joanne is at peace in Heaven, but our world is now a little dimmer with the loss of such a compassionate, kind and genuine person.

Mom, I love you! Your suffering is over, and you are at home with those you love in Heaven. We miss you - so many things every day bring you to my thoughts - a James Taylor song on the radio, a beautiful flower, a tiny bird. You will always be with me - thank you for being the most wonderful mother in the world, always loving and supportive. I miss your hugs...
