Send Flowers

Joanne Alice Cole Kubesch ("Joey") certainly left this world better than she found it when she moved on to Heaven on January 13, 2024, no doubt to hand the angels the first of many to-do lists.

Joey was the oldest child of James Omar and Alice (Freeney) Cole, born in Washington, D.C.,...

Not sure what to say?

I am really tardy in writing this. As close as I can figure, Joey and I were 4th cousins. I was in a different Cole branch. We met as adults when my husband and I were visiting Peru where I was born. We were driving down a country road close to the river (name escapes me at the moment). I knew where the Porter house was. I also knew that the house next door was also a Cole house. We were driving by and Joey was out front tending her flowers. I had never met her but I knew we were...

What truly special family Joey nurtured and now so they wonderfully describe in this tribute to an extraordinary lady. My visits to Peru are most special memories. I fed her Angus named Michelle and even toured the local Food Pantry. AND got to return a few more times thanks to Joey's energy and hospitality. My deepest condolences to the Kubesch family. The world is lucky to have such a fine family carrying Joanne Cole Kubesch spirit forward.

Joey was a wonderful lady. I am proud to call her my friend. Prayers for the family. Susan Grigsby Clemons

Whenever Cid & my wife, Ann, would play in the Peru orchestra at St. Charles, she would do me the honor of finding me, and sitting with me. She would whisper to me whatever was on her mind that troubled her, as though I might be able to solve the problem. There never was a more caring or passionatively intelligent woman, known to me in my life...Ed Larimer st

Joanne was a friend to my sister Linda Rauscher Gaboya Dehner for many years. When Linda´s husband passed away, Jo opened up her home for all of the out of town relate stay in. She could not have been more thoughtful to meet our needs. Linda will be waiting to greet her on this next journey. I send love and hugs to her family and thank you for your friendship to my sister and her family.

Joanne, Cole Kubish was without a doubt one of the most incredible women I have ever known. As I think back over at least 70 years of being involved with her family, I can remember many things that they have done to help people. Her father was, the perfect gentleman that helped me in many ways in my career. Her husband was a fellow pilot with me at Grissom Air Force Base, and I can remember refueling him on different occasions. Joey would call whenever she needed some help for people in...

What a beautiful tribute to Joey. She was one of a kind, and I treasure memories and fun times spent with the family. I always got a kick out of Joeys post it notes around the kitchen. Much love to the Kubesch clan as you deal with the loss of your mom.
