Not sure what to say?

I am sorry. I must have been searching for this site too soon. I could not find it in February. Joanne was a woman of valor. She had big, original creative dreams about improving the lives of people in her community and bringing peace and justice to the world. But unlike many with those dreams, she made them happen. She led with warmth, humour, energy, imagination and persistence. She was an inspiration to me and I am sure many others.

My heartfelt sympathy to Joanne's family. I loved being her neighbor, treasured friend, and occasional helper. Joanne's warm heart and groovy self truly brightened my days... forever. May thoughts of Joanne, and a few of her special trinkets, comfort your hearts, and bring soft smiles to your faces. Shalom.

Dear Family, Joanne, as you know, was a larger than life individual. Some years back, I so enjoyed writing a piece about her in what was then 'Lear's Magazine'; it featured her accomplishments and determination to demonstrate what a woman with a mission can do! She will always be a model, a luminous, beautiful presence for us all - unique for offering both wisdom and compassion.

Clea and family, I am so sorry to learn that Joanne has died. She was a joy. I am inspired to hunt up pics of Joanne hugging an ICBM at a SAC base in far north Nebraska a few decades back. Maryo

A wonderful person Marlene

I met Joanne at Cuyahoga Community College more than forty years ago when she was the Director of The Nuclear Age Resource Center, everyone who met her knew that she was a force to be reckoned with-she made things happen! Years later, I was fortunate to witness that force firsthand and to work with her as she conceptualized and brought into existence The Robert L. Lewis Academy of Scholars. Her wit, vast knowledge, and experience was an inspiration to all who knew her. I am blessed to have...

I remember Joanne Lewis from my many years at Cuyahoga Community College. There are many words to describe her, but I will use just one---- WONDERFUL. She will be missed.

What a lovely and sweet woman she was. I work in the building she lived in and whenever I saw her she was always in a good mood. Every time you talked to her she cared and truly listened to you. Ms Lewis you will be missed. To the Lewis family, we are very sorry for your loss and we give you our most heartfelt condolences.

Gen and I adored meeting your magical Joanne! She was such a gem! One of my all time favorite people I´ve ever photographed
