Erik, I'm so, so sorry for your loss. Even though I never met you, when I spoke to mom (which wasn't often), she would tell me about you. Your mom and I were cousins - sort of, maybe, distantly. Uncle Al married my Cousin Belle, so Jo and I decided we were cousins! We saw each other every summer, from the time we were about 5, through 9th grade. My grandparents had a house in Lake Mohegan. Jo and I would sit in our 'clubhouse', under a weeping something bush between our two houses, and...

So,so sad. Condolences to her family. We knew Joanne through our business over many years (Monkey Joe). She went out of her way to promote our business when we opened, & generously invited my husband on her local tv show at the time. She was talented, had never- ending energy, and determination, accomplished so much in her lifetime. Her signed Hudson Valley books remain on our coffee table to this day. RIP Joanne.

So sorry to hear this tragic news. The last time I saw Joanne was ice skating in the Catskills - she was kind and warm, as remembered here. Sending my sincere condolences to Erik and the rest of the family.

you had so much more life to live and so much more to give. I have fond memories of you coming in to Woodstock Elementary with Erik and the wonderful talks we had. You were a beautiful person inside and out and I am proud to say I knew you. Fly high my friend. Erik my sincere condolences to you.

Joanne was a force of nature. She was beautiful, kind, intelligent, an avid ice skater, and the hardest working person imaginable. Her death is a loss to the Woodstock community. My condolences to her family.
