Joanne SCHMIDT

I share memories of performing Gypsy at North High School with Ms. Schmidt and other cast members. Later my son Wes attended Northridge Elementary School where Ms. Schmidt taught his class. Over the years I would occasionally see Ms. Schmidt at the garden center or hair salon, and she was always bright and cheery, interested in my life and family. She was a good role model for the students and for parents, too. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Anyone who had her as a teacher loved her. I was in her class when she left the room and came back pushing a tv in the door. She said no more school work today. You will learn from Walter Cronkite on the news of our president´s assassination. Her pink cheeks and loving personality made it so easy to want to go to school everyday.

Our family is sorry to see the passing of such a vivacious person as Joanne. She was such a charismatic person and always full of life and enthusiasm. We should all be so lucky to know someone like her.
