Not sure what to say?

Joanne and I have kept in touch over the years through email "dispatches". She called them this in the early days, and it stuck. Joanne has crossed my thoughts a few times the past few days and I kept meaning to reach out to check in. Something told me to google her name and I felt a flutter of grief when I realized my newest email dispatch would go unread. Rereading my Joanne file I hear her replies in her voice and in her special emphasis. She loved telling me about treatment she was trying...

My phone rang one day last year and the woman asked "are you the granddaughter of George Elmer Silver?" We chatted, texted, emailed and I received the most articulate inspiring messages from Joanne. I wish I would have met her sooner. Although a very brief relationship this wise woman's impact on me was profound and such a blessing.

Joanne my sweet powerhouse friend. We teamed up and really got things done thanks to your huge heart and huge intelligence and fearlessness. I admired you so much. You were the most ethical, compassionate, kind, funny, dynamic person. It's hard to believe I can't just call you up and set the world to rights. Thank you for everything you made happen and all the people you helped with your fierce heart. Love you JS.

Rest in power, JR. You were one of a kind. We met under difficult circumstances, yet forged a wonderful friendship from it that I will cherish. Cheers to much laughter shared and the walks down memory lane. I'm grateful for our conversations and the time we had together. You really did make the best cookies. Me and THE K.K. will dance in your memory.

I knew Joanne for a short time only but it didn´t take long for me to realize what a generous, intelligent, life-loving individual she was with a wonderful sense of humour and great stories. I am so glad to have met her.

Joanne was a truly wonderful friend, kind, thoughtful, generous, loyal and caring. She was also funny and she will be missed!
