Joaquin Salazar

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Mission Hills on Friday, July 31, 2020. He was originally from Colima, Mexico, one of six siblings. He was an accomplished artist and received his education in business and painting. He immigrated with his wife and family to the United States in 1961 and settled in the San Fernando Valley. He was a Business Owner, sign-painter, artist and entrepreneur. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and were fortunate to reach destinations such as Europe, Asia, and Russia and enjoyed spending the winters in their home in Yuma, Arizona. He was a third-degree member of Knights of Columbus, San Fernando Council, and was involved in their charity and community events. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lupe, of 70 years, and his children Jorge and Ana Maria. He is survived by his children Jose, Lourdes, Elena, Joaquin, Francisco, Laurentina and Georgina, his 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He will be truly missed but forever in our hearts.

Not sure what to say?

As I reflected on Papachin’s beautiful life filled with so much family and wonderful times I feel at peace knowing he is with life partner and with God. I miss him already and so grateful for his love as my grandfather. Rest In Peace
