My deepest sympathy is sent to Jodi's family and friends. I was so shocked and saddened to hear the news. We were graduate students together at UNLV and our offices were next to each other until I graduated. She and I used to love to come in on the weekends and let our beagles play together in the hall while we worked. She gave me so much encouragement while I was writing my thesis and listened to me when I was doubting myself. She was a very good friend to me and I will miss her very much....

My deepest sympathies to Jodi's families. Jodi was so lively and she'll be missed. I am attaching two photos I have of Jodi-- both from a trip we made together to the Shivwits Plateau in the Spring of 2005. My favorite picture is the one of her sitting and looking over the north rim of the Grand Canyon-- I think this captures her spirit in many ways. Jodi was so happy on that trip.
