Goodrich Funeral Home - Lynn Obituary

RANDALL, Jody Lee (Annis), 61—a beloved mother, devoted wife, and cherished friend—passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, with her two sons by her side. A lifelong resident of the North Shore, Jody’s remarkable resilience and unwavering love for her family defined her life.

Born on November 22, 1963, in Lynn, Jody was the only child of Patricia “Tricia” Ann (Ballard) and Lloyd Malcolm Annis. She grew up in Saugus, surrounded by a close-knit extended family. She graduated from Saugus High School in 1981, where she won awards as a talented bassoonist in the marching band. Jody briefly attended the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to study nursing before beginning a career with the U.S. Postal Service in Salem. Unfortunately, due to illness, she retired early on disability in 1998.

On September 12, 1987, Jody married the love of her life, Bruce Alan Randall. Their 15 years of marriage were filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising their two sons, Keith and Matthew. Though Bruce’s passing in 2002 was a profound loss, Jody carried his love in her heart every day, finding strength in their sons.

Despite living with significant health challenges for over 30 years, Jody never let them define her. Her fierce determination and boundless love for her boys kept her pushing forward. She was endlessly adaptable, always finding creative ways to maintain her independence. One of her proudest recent achievements was mastering her Google Nest, using it to control her room’s lights, TV, fan, and phone—often to playfully pester her sons with multiple daily calls (as she loved to remind them).

Jody treasured time with family and friends. Weekly visits from her son Matt, sister-in-law Linda, and nephew Joe were highlights, as were gatherings with Keith, cousins, and childhood friends. She delighted in outings to restaurants, concerts, and the casino, never missing a Celtic Thunder show when they toured Boston. She had been looking forward to seeing The High Kings for the first time this year.

Jody is survived by her loving sons, Keith Thomas Randall and his partner Ian Sullivan of Winooski VT, and Matthew Randall of Bennington NH; her devoted sister-in-law Linda Donahue and husband Joey of Peabody; nephew Joe Donahue of Peabody; sister-in-law Rhonda Randall of Florida; mother-in-law Marie Randall of Jacksonville FL; aunt Peggy Ballard of Malden; and dear cousins, Tom Ballard and wife Sherre of Glendale AZ, Blanche Tarantino and husband Steve of Winthrop, Steve Annis and wife Kellie of Vassalboro ME. She also leaves behind her lifelong friends, Maureen Whitcomb of Saugus and Faith Wait of Harrisburg PA.

She was welcomed into eternity by her beloved husband Bruce; her parents; her father-in-law Sherwood “Randy” Randall; her mother-in-law Joan Randall; her uncles Paul Ballard and L. Keith Annis; her aunt Dotty Annis; and her cousins Wayne Annis and Christopher Ballard.

Jody’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the countless individuals who supported her over the years—from compassionate caseworkers and dedicated medical staff to the volunteers, extended family, and friends who enriched her life. Because of you, Jody lived longer and happier than anyone imagined possible. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jody’s memory may be made to The Edinburg Center in Bedford, which provided exceptional care and support during her final years. The Edinburg Center’s residential Acquired Brain Injury program was instrumental in enhancing Jody’s quality of life, and her family encourages contributions to help others in similar need.

Family and friends are invited to honor Jody’s life at a memorial service on Friday, March 14, at 10 a.m. at East Saugus United Methodist Church, 85 Chestnut St, Saugus. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody, at 11:30 a.m. A reception will be held at 12:30p at Prince Pizzeria, Saugus. For those unable to attend in person, Jody’s service will be livestreamed.

Jody’s warmth, humor, and indomitable spirit will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
