Not sure what to say?

I'm sure I signed in long ago. Just wanted to say I think of Joe every summer when we open our Westchester Band Concerts with America The Beautiful. The plaque and tree tribute to Joe a couple of years back was very moving for those of us still in the band from the old days.
Tom Heimer, principal clarinet.

Dr.Albright was my music teacher and band leader in my high school years. He was a wonderful person, so kind and caring. A WWII veteran , he was part if the greatest generation. He was so instumental in guiding me im my formative years. I will always be thankful for his guidance and care. I learned of his passing just recently and want his family to know what a great man he was.

Dr. Albright was my first French horn teacher, and he had me improvising the blues when I was 12 years old which I thought was so cool! Just a very kind man. He was one of my early musical inspirations (I am a singer/composer/songwriter, and teach music related courses).

My sincerest condolences. I have so many fond memories of "Doc" from Scarsdale High School (Class of 86) and the Westchester Symphonic band concerts on those sweet summer evenings. When I first met him, I wanted to play guitar in the jazz band, he say "Ok, but I also need a Tuba player" and my wonderful journey in band had begun. His spirit and gentle nature is forever in my heart.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise found in 1 Thessalonians 4 : 14 can bring you some comfort. Knowing that there is a future for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

I taught with Joe at SHS for many years. He was a wonderful teacher and musician. I fondly remember our band trips to Canada. Pug, please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your wonderful husband.

Too many good times to count over the 15 years I played in the WB under Joe. Great human being, great conductor, great music to play. I still listen to those tapes I made during those years, which brings back those memories. One of my favourites was when Joe asked Phil and Joe to play a trumpet/flugal duet which was taped in the SHS band room and used as our wedding "first dance" in '95. Condolences to Pug and family. RIP Joe. Tom & Liz Heimer

What a great, great man! Doc changed my life. He had an influence on my schooling, my majoring in music and becoming a teacher. I spent classes, lunches, evenings, weekends and summers learning from and working with this man long after my high school years.

As I sit here reminiscing and reflecting I realize how much Doc impacted my life. He gave me the gift of music. After seven years of teaching and nurturing me he awarded me with scholarship money to help pay for my...

"Doc" was a great band director, musician, teacher, and human being. He was a wonderful musical inspiration to me and so many others during high school and beyond. I particularly remember our jazz ensemble in the early '70s, trips to Toronto and Wyalusing, and summer concerts in the SHS courtyard. Doc always encouraged me to play well, listen, and learn more about theory, arranging, and even conducting. Our cohort spent every high school free period and lunch hour inhabiting the band room...
