Not sure what to say?

Joe and I were classmates all 12 years of attending school at LaCenter and what comes to mind when I remember Joe was his wonderful smile and friendly disposition. He loved to make people laugh. I am so saddened to hear of his death and know that he will be missed by many family and friends. May God bring you comfort, strength and peace. Love, Celeste Rau Vander Stoep

Joe and I were neighbors growing up. He will be missed. His smile and great attitude will be missed.

On several occasions, over the years, I've had the pleasurable experience of chance meetings with a fine fellow.

Maybe I'm photographing the Grist Mill or just out for a stroll and decide to get off the hard concrete sidewalks ... by cutting through the beautifully kept grounds of Evergreen Memorial.
Or ... I'm just out shopping somewhere and I meet this friendly face.

A face - that ALWAYS offered a friendly "hello" with a warm smile ... accompanied by a firm and hardy hand...

My heart goes out to the Chipman family today as they celebrate Joe's life of 61 yrs. My remembrance of Joe was he & 50 other youth were in our Young Peoples Group at La Center Evangelical Free Church & he always included our 3 kiddo's on every outing we went with the youth & they so enjoyed him. Also I remember him at the Cedar Creek Grist Mill when he ground us some Corn Meal that sure made wonderful Corn Bread :) He seemed to enjoy his job there as he was very informative to the visitors...

Annette and children: Pleas know I care - stunned to hear of your loss. Joe was "one cool dude' as my bro says and was blessed to have such a talented & creative wife to go thru life with. I believe he is with the Lord and at peace. He ground wheat for my fav bread. Friend, Janet Lee

Still remember all the fun times in high school. I will think of you often and smile with all the fun we bought to the teachers.
