Not sure what to say?

It is sad to hear about Joes's passing, but he is in a better place now. I've been eating Cobbs bar-b-q since i can remember. My grandfather George McCallister was the one i owe credit to for introducing me to "real" bar-b-q at Joe's. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of your family during this time.

Sue and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I grew up eating "Joe Cobb" which my mother, Sudie Stinnett, served regularly. After I left Bossier, I would long for a taste of your barbeque. On every trip home, I would go straight from the airport to Cobb's and THEN go home. It was always a treat to visit with you. Joe and Sue always asked how I was doing and were so cheerful and upbeat. I will always treasure the memories of eating at Cobb's. Thanks for all the joy you...

I have such fond memories of going to get "Joe Cobb's" through the alley with my daddy years ago as a child. It has always been my first stop when I travel to Bossier from Houston to see my brothers now. It has been a life-long tradition to go and see both Mr and Mrs Cobb. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I hope that the restaurant continues as Bossier will not be the same without it. My thoughts go out to his wife and daughters. Love, Margaret "Sister" Crowe Ames

I worked on Monroe Street just across the way from Bossier City Hall & the old police station back in the early 70's. It was almost and every or every otheiId that for 18 years then had job change across to Shreveport but I still visited Cobbs until just about month ago. Mr. Cobb was always such a delighful man and Ms. Sue is the sweetiest person alive. My sincere sympathy to all the family. Mr. Joe will be dearly missed.

I started working for BREMCO in May of 1978 and one of the weekly dinner locations was Cobb's BBQ. I prefer the taste and friendly atmosphere. I would take my kids to eat there whenever we could and never had a complaint. We will surely miss him as will a great many.

Mr. Joe, you will always be remembered as the best BBQ man in the country. My brother Edwin worked for you many years ago & had more respect in his lil finger for you than his whole body for anyone else. You changed the lives of alot of young people over the years.May God bless your family & keep his hand on them. GOD BLESS YOU MR. JOE. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS AND MINDS, I HOPE BOSSIER CITY HONORS YOU WITH A CITY WIDE BAR-B- QUE DAY ON JANUARY 12TH AS AN ANNUAL EVENT IN YOUR MEMORY. SINCERELY CLEVE M. DARDEN JR.

I can't remember how old I was when I had my first taste of Cobb's. But I do remember every time I stayed home sick from school my mom would always bring me Cobb's for lunch, it had the magic touch to make me feel so much better I could go outside and play :)Since then I have moved to Arizona but I always make sure to visit Cobb's every time I come in town; otherwise I refuse to leave. In my last trip, April 2009, my son was able to have his first taste of Cobb's and met Joe. I asked Joe...

Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the Cobb family and many friends. Mr. Cobb was the type of individual who touched many lives and will be dearly missed. Our world is a better place because of his faithfulness to our Lord and Savior. I was first hooked on Cobb’s BBQ and Mr. Cobb in the early 60s. He always knew what to say to make one feel at home. When returning to Bossier for a visit I would always drop in and rekindle many old fond memories. I knew I always had a home at Cobbs.
