"Fair Winds and Following Seas"

My dear friends at this time of great loss, we will keep you in our prayers. May God bless, comfort, and keep you safe.

We were very sorry to read about the loss of Mr. Cope. It's obvious that he did a lot for Lexington and was well loved. He will be missed. Courtney, you and your family will be in our prayers.

Dear Cope Family,

My family has eaten at Smokey Joe's every time we come to Lexington to visit family. I didn't have the honor of meeting or knowing Mr. Cope, I've always felt the owner had to be a very good person, the staff is some of the best, owners play a part in how their staff conducts business, the Cope family can be proud, I know you are.selected the best, Mr. Cope will be missed by many.

God bless each of you in a special way, this a sad time, saying good bye...

My thoughts and prayers are with you during these very difficult times. I remember playing softball for Smokey Joes during the 1970's and how happy Joe was when his team did well. We would drive down from Appalachian just to play a softball game and then return to Boone that very evening. Joe was always grateful to us. It was truly an honor to play for him. Heaven has certainly gained a wonderful man.

Scott & family. Im really sorry to hear about your dad. Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care, Judy Day and family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. I always enjoyed working with Joe at Old Hickory BBQ. He gave me my first job.

Dear Cope Family: Joe Cope was a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Belonging to Joe Bruff made beagle hunting and BBQ part of our DNA. Daddy hunted and traded with Joe and their friendship was long lasting. Old Hickory was where we ate, parked and flirted with the boys. Robert's memories are also fond ones from the restaurant. Joe was one of those rare men whose impact was and will be felt for many generations. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both now and in the days...

Janette,Mike,Scott I just wanted to say that I remember working Joe at Jiffy Kitchen and Smokey Joes and he has always been someone that I remember as a tru friend more than a customer. He definately had an positive impact on my life.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time. I worked at Smokey Joe's many different times when I was growing up. Joe was a terrific boss and friend. He will be greatly missed.
