My Dad, Burt was on the survey crew with Joe for many years and they had a friendship that my Dad cherished.
I remember growing up sitting at the dinner table listening to my dad tell stories of all the shenanigans that the crew pulled on each other. I remember sometimes that big orange city suburban would pull up in front of our house with Jim in the driver's seat and Joe and his pipe in the passenger seat.
