Joe was a wonderful person who really played a big part in our family for five years. He had a happy disposition and his positive and loving traits for everyone in my family was something we will never forget.
Time goes on and people move on, but some people are never forgotten. Joe will be one of those people to us. We have hilariously funny and crazy memories along with memories that were wonderfully kind and caring. Holidays and wonderful times were spent with Joe for several years....

I'm very sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I've been a fan of The Guilloteens for a number of years and am a loss for words regarding Joe's death. My condolences to Joe's entire family and freinds.

I’m very sorry to hear about Joe. He was always such a nice guy. I remember him walking through the halls of Central with a big smile, a bounce in his step and drumsticks in his back pocket. He was always very friendly, so talented and down to earth. I believe the last time I saw him was the summer of 69 at a Clearpool gig he was playing. His great success never went to his head or changed his positive attitude, infectious laugh and friendly ways. His meter was always right on time. May you...

To the family of Joe Davis,
I'm so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I haven't lived in Memphis since 1973 except for 3 years but still go back and see my grade school and high school friends that keep me up to date.
I grew up in Bethel Grove too and had the pleasure of skating with Joe couple dancing at Rainbow Skating Rink. What a wonderful roller skater and nice person he was.
We also danced at Minnie Wagner Playground at the Wednesday night dances.
We lost touch after...

It was an honor to be chosen by Joe and Laddie Hutcherson to be a new member of the Guilloteens in l967. We're gonna miss you my friend. We created so many memories that have lasted a life time. See you on the other side. Save a spot in your new band, because I know you will be rocking and rolling in heaven. See you soon.Your friend and former Guilloteen,Buddy Delaney

I had the privilege of tagging along with Joe for a few months back during the time period when he had his 57 Chevy - must have been senior year. It was such an education to accompany him on a number of band gigs, and late meals at Pat's Pizza. It was a new world for me. I'll always remember Joe as someone who seemed to know everyone in the city, and was always so kind and considerate to all. A really special guy.

"The Rev." Joe Jett. Words can't describe the way he touched everyone he met. I was lucky enough to know him for the past 15 years. The world will be a little dimmer place witout his smile, Heaven will be jammin tonight though.
