Thank you all so much, your thoughts and prayers mean a great deal to our family in this time of sorrow. My Mom is not very computer savvy, but rest assured, I will show her all of your kind messages tomorrow. (I loved dancing with my dad also!)

Mr.Dedge was my scoutmaster at St. Matthews. He was a kind and inspirational leader to all of his scouts. Although I had not seen him in over 40 years, I will always remember him with great respect and admiration.

Dearest Anne, My wonderful long time friend, I am very sorry and sorrowfilled for you, Beautiful Susan and family. Your Joe marked milestones in many of our lives, and of course none more than your's. I lost my dear brother last week, so our hearts paralel the grief. I have so often thought of you and Joe. May you find comfort in the many collective prayers that will always be with you.

Dear Anne:
Please accept my deepest sympathies on the passing of your dear husband Joe. My sweetest memory of Joe is dancing with him at my wedding reception at the German American Club. He was the consummate gentleman. Always had a smile on his face and a kind word on his lips. I will miss seeing him sitting in the front pew at church! May you find comfort and peace knowing that Joe is with our Heavenly Father!

Joe had a huge influence on my life. He was my Cub Scout & Boy Scout Leader at Troop 132, and was even my "Den Mother" for a while. I have never been very handy with tools but in Cub Scouts he patiently taught me how to saw & hammer and ultimately build a bird house. Then all of the knot tying in Boy Scouts - I can still tie a bowline because of Joe.
Joe, Carl Kroppman, Bud Hogan & and my Dad (Jack Field) had their hands full keeping track of Ricky, Tommy Kroppman ("TK"), Pat...
