Joe Ignacio Gatica born on November 7, 1984, in San Antonio, Texas went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2022, at the age of 37. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Martin B. Gatica and Angelita P. Gatica, Jose and Alejandrina Castillo; cousins, John Matthew Gatica, Paul Gatica, Eric lopez, and Raul Araiza; uncles Martin P. Gatica Jr., Lorenzo P. Gatica, Pedro P. Gatica, Jose Ignacio Gatica (Pecas), Manuel Cerda, Alfonso Castillo Sr., and Noel Castillo; aunts Virginia G. Linares, Angelita G. Rodriguez, and Gloria G. Araiza.
He is survived by his parents, Mario P. Gatica Sr. and Mary C. Gatica; daughter, Angelique Gatica; son, Dominic Jude Ignacio Gatica; brothers, Mario Gatica Jr, and wife Michelle, Jesse James Gatica and Francjesco Dominic Gatica; sister, Italy Rome Gatica; nieces, Ireland Celestial Gatica and Natalia Magdalen Gatica; nephews, Mario Antonio Dimitri Gatica III (Dodie), Jouquin Nicholas Gatica, Francejesco Dorian Gatica Jr., and Liam Sebastian Gatica and numerous extended family and friends; His presence in our lives will be dearly missed.
Joe Ignacio Gatica was a positive energy in the Gatica family. Joe made everyone around him feel special and made sure everyone was taken care of. Joe was always ready to help everyone anyway he could, he was such a hard worker, never thought twice and never said no, if Joe thought in any way he could help he was there. Joe was a man very strong in his faith, always praying and always reading scriptures no matter what time of day. Just if he thought it was something we needed to hear he would send it, just another example of Joe always looking out for others, he was an undeniably selfless person. Joe left his positive mark on many family members and friends who have many stories and precious memories of him and his big beautiful contagious smile that we will remember forever. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Procession will depart Hillcrest on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
