Not sure what to say?

Gloria, I'm sorry that Jane and I were out of the country when you had the picnic at Sunol for Joe. I've enjoyed his friendship and his company for a long time at Sandia, and we both value the fun we've had with you and Joe at Larry's and Chuck's games and at the retirement gatherings. The world has lost a true gentleman, a good soul, and a splendid bridge player. Dear Gloria, I'm so sorry for your loss and know that it will be difficult for you after so many happy years. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Joe D

I played against Joe at bridge games many times, and I, too, found him to be a gentleman at all times (a rare thing in the serious atmosphere that permeates most duplicate bridge games)--and not only a gentleman, but a patient, friendly, and positive person. We'll miss him at the Ashland San Leandro Bridge Club, as he'll be missed in many places.

It was always a pleasure to have Joe at the bridge table. He was always a gentleman, mentor and of course a good player. I know you all miss him but you can rest in the positive thoughts of his life both as a father and husband.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Joe D - he was a pleasant and competent person in the Group at Sandia - I enjoyed working with him.

I had the privilege of working with Joe for many years at Sandia and remember him as a dedicated professional. His unassuming friendly demeanor made him a pleasure to be around. I extend my sincere condolences to his family.

Carol and I are saddened to learn of Joe's passing. We enjoyed his friendship over his time here at Sandia and locally. Our best wishes to all the family - Jim and Carol Rogers
