Dear Ann, I wish I'd had the opportunity to know Buck. What a wonderful person he must have been. No surprise there. I know you will miss him so much. Sending my love, Ann

Ann, Buck was a good friend to Lanna and me. He took the time to advise our daughter Caroline when she worked in the political world of Washington, D.C. Lanna and I enjoyed our visits with him on the porch at Pawleys and at his previous home in Maryland, for he was a natural conversationist with an easy flow of words filled with wonderful stories. He and I also had many delightful phone conversations. He never lost his love for his home town of Winnsboro and his home state of South Carolina....
