Joe E. Kearns

JOE E KEARNS, age 71, Wornall Lane, Cynthiana, died Thursday, February 12, 2009. Born in Harrison County, June 28, 1937, to the late William "Bill" and Venie Whirls Kearns, he was a retired City of Cynthiana employee, a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church and a Kentucky Colonel. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Bell Kearns; two brothers, Stanley Kearns and William Thomas "Jack" Kearns; a sister, Arline Slade and two half-sisters, Ruby Kelly and May Ritchie. He is survived by two sons, Billy Joe (Betty) Kearns, Paris and Ricky (Patricia) Kearns, Cynthiana, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday at Ware Funeral Home by Rev. Dave Carper. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
