Joe King, age 89, of Loudon, passed away Friday, December 16, 2016. Joe was of the Baptist faith. He worked many years for the Don P. Smith Chair Factory and was self-employed as a furniture sander. He enjoyed a lifelong love of wood and made many special pieces for family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Tap and Rachel Izora (Shaw) King; wife, Daisy (Lambert) King (2004); and children, Glen King, Judy Walden and Robert King. Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Sandra Jo and Edgar Kepley, Loudon; sons and daughter-in-law, William Charles King, Trinity, NC and Edward and Barbara King, Loudon; sister, Billie Sue Harp; numerous grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services honoring and remembering Joe King will be held 7:00 PM, Monday, Dec. 19th, McGill-Karnes Chapel with Rev. John Walker and Rev. Roy Hatley officiating. Interment 11:00, Tuesday in Loudon County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM prior to the service Monday at McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, 406 Wharf St. Loudon. www.mcgillkarnes.com.
