Not sure what to say?

He was my accounting teacher my junior year at Ed´s. My job before class was to bring him his coffee to the classroom. He started me on my way to excel in accounting , which I will ever be grateful to him. Frank Charvat, class of 75

I had him at Ed´s for accounting as a junior. He made me go to the cafe every morning and bring him his coffee. Great teacher, man and friend. I ran a couple of races with him and his daughter back in the 90´s. One of my favorite teachers. RIP Joe

I was blessed to have Joe as a teacher at St. Edward High School. He was the best teacher I ever had and was always encouraging me to be the best that I could. He always took time to make me feel good about myself. Buzzy 80

We will never ever forget about Mr. Mackey. We are sure there´s more people that feel the same way. The stories never stop, and we repeat them all the time. It´s an honor to have know Mr. Mackey as well as his wife, and children. He truly lives on in each and everyone of us in different ways. Our family has been truly blessed with knowing him. With much love and respect to the entire Mackey Family at this time. The Green Family

I just learned of Joe's passing. I knew Joe as a customer, one of the first to buy a StairMaster from me back in 1985. I had over 15,000 customers in 10 Midwest states and Joe was the best of the best. When we moved to Cleveland I would stop at the OMNI whenever I had an early morning flight out of Hopkins - Joe was either at the front desk, his office or 'going hard' on a StairMaster. He was the favorite of all my reps and service guys - always had a smile and would always offer you a...

Dear Joe Mackey Family,
I came across this framed photo which once hung in the Omni and had to pass it along to you. Our daughter Jacy was a Division 1 basketball player who grew up at the Omni. Joe took her under his wing and played a role in her success. Her inscription on the photo reads, "Mr Mackey, I couldn't have done it without you!" We were so blessed to have had Joe in our lives and in hers. He left quite an imprint on our daughter.

Mr. Mackey was a good guy.

Unfortunately I had to visit his office for disciplinary issues too many times. Later on I got to know him better when I joined the Omni.
He was always nice to me and my wife when we came to work out.

I first met Joe Mackey as a freshmen at St Eds selling programs for the football games. He really encouraged me with his humor. I also helped him pull out the bleachers for the basket ball games. He coined a nickname for me Peeps your my assistant Athletic director. He really was my first and best mentor at Eds I remember him bringing his wifeCarol and all of his children when they were little. He also gave me rides home in his volkswagon bug. May God bless Carol and all of his children and...
