Joe O'Connor would have first liked to thank you. "Thank you for being with me in this," he might have said in his terrific Brooklyn accent, a stamp of authenticity that never faded from his voice. So he thanks the reader in his book of poems, published last December. Joe O'Connor died on April...

Not sure what to say?

Dear Holly, I am so sorry for the loss of Joe and the circumstances that brought it about. Joe had a huge impact on my life and recovery. He always seemed invincible. He was creative, intelligent, articulate and funny. And, he brought those qualities out in others. I am glad that he had over 20 years of happiness with you.

Dear Holly,
Just learned of Joe's death. Sweetie, I am so very sorry. The obit is an eloquent tribute to Joe and to you. One of my best memories of Joe was his respect and support for your father, "Doctor E". I keep you in my prayers, dear Holly.

Dear Holly, I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I always enjoyed coming in and talking with you in OGW, and it was an extra special treat when Joe was there! I remember him as you described- when you were talking with him, he made you feel like you were the most important person in the room! I'm sending love and hugs to you.

Dear Holly, Sheila and I are so sorry to learn of Joe's passing. We learned of it from our good friend Pat McBride via Facebook.
Joe was a friend of ours for a long time, going way back to the political scene in Harrisburg decades ago. He had his serious side while he was sharing poignant observations and his lighter humorous side when he was sharing jokes. One thing that was always apparent was that he was a genuine person. It was our loss that we did not see him and you in recent...

My condolences to your family may God be with
you. Currently we are living in a Ghost Town, however I believe your in a much better place.

Dear Holly,
Art and I send our condolences and prayers for you at the sad passing of Joe. May God's presence give you peace.
Love, Cousin Linda

Holly. Joe and I would often talk about teaching since we were both former teachers. Of course he would always lend me his wisdom when it came to living sober. I feel honored to have known him.

The ripples of Joe's positive impact on this world are wide, and will be long-lasting. I am so grateful for his commitment to mentoring others; it is hard to put into words, but I know Joe felt it, and Holly understands. Sincere condolences to her and the O'Connor family.
