My dear Ratchford family,

There are no words to express how sorry I am to learn of Joe's death. He and Sam were like brothers and when Sam died, Joe became like my brother. Please know that you are all in my prayers.

Joe was a good man to be around He was always friendly and warm to all that he met. As a good Scout, God and country were important to him. He was a staunch Wolfpacker and hard worker. I will miss him.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Joe was a great man and worked so hard for our students at Southwest by supplying a great place for them to practice and play...Southwest Athletic Department
