Graveside services for Joe Ben Rickets II,  are scheduled for Saturday, February 11th at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery.


Joe Ben Rickets II was born August 8, 1948 to Ruby (Ayres) and Don Alexander Rickets in Ardmore, OK. He passed from this life on February 5, 2023 at the age of 74.


Joe was a graduate of Ardmore High School in the class of 1966. Upon graduation he attended Murray State College in Tishomingo, and Evansville University in Evansville, IN. He married Peggy Ruth Ort, from this marriage there was one son, Joe Ben Rickets III.


Joe married Teresa Willard on August 17, 1996 at the Marietta Rod and Gun Club in Love County.


Joe was preceded in death by his parents Don and Ruby Rickets.


He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Teresa Rickets of the home, and her daughter Leah Lacy of the home, 4 grandchildren, raised by Joe, Devan, Cydnie, Hailee, and Jason, 12 great grandchildren, son, Joe Ben III and his wife Bonnie and family of Oklahoma City; and surrogate son and big brother to Ben, Billy Harmon, sisters Nancy Snow  and husband George of Wilson, Carole Martin and husband Larry of Marietta, and families and a sister-in-law Denisa Ramsey and husband Kip and family, of Ardmore.

Joe was a wonderful, honest, intelligent, and caring man who was always up for great conversation. Always willing to explain something mechanical or technical to those of us who were not as gifted, he did so with patience. Blessed to have known him and call him a friend.
