Not sure what to say?

I was so sad to hear of Joe's passing. I was traveling for work when his memorial service was held and I wasn't able to attend; my heartfelt condolences to his family. I worked with Joe Sims at NASA for a few years before he retired; he was a character and everyone enjoyed his stories. He was a good mentor to the younger engineers and I always enjoyed his laugh. I'm glad he was able to join us back at NASA for some of our thermal get togethers in his later years, he will be missed.

I just found out about Joe yesterday. I am so very sorry . Growing up there could not have been any better neighbors than Joe and Susan, David and John. Some of my sweetest childhood memories involve the Sims. Much love to a sweet sweet family.

Joe and I shared not only working next door to each other at NASA but also a lifelong interest in musical instruments. We traded, bought, and sold to each other for many years. We in the music world will miss him greatly and extend our heartfelt sympathy to Susan and family.

Joe was my team lead when I first joined the thermal engineering branch at the Marshall Space Flight Center, way back in 1978. Although he helped me learn testing and programmatic criteria in that organization, what I really admired in Joe from day one was how kind and loving he was of his wife and boys (and later, grandchildren.) I'm glad he and Susan could make it to some of our thermal get-togethers in later years. Our prayers now go out to his family at his passing with the confidence...

My love goes out to all of the family and loved ones, near and far..
I know he will be missed by many.

I worked with Joe at Marshall Space Flight Center for ten years or so before he retired, in the same technical area. He loved to laugh and tell jokes and was very helpful to all of us younger engineers. He really loved his wife and two sons and had many stories to tell about them. Joe will be missed by many people in this area.

I first met Mr Joe at the Athens Fiddlers Convention several years ago, have always enjoyed talking to him, he will truly be missed. Our prayers go out for the family..

I was in College at Florence State Collage with Joe. That was about 50 years ago.
Joe was a find young man but I lost track of him after college.
