Joe was a true American hero. I honor his contributions. He & my Dad, Lupe, were schoolboys together in Miami, just kids trying to live through the Great Depression. God bless you, Joe.

I lived 4 doors down from Joe for several years (up until last year). What a giant of a man and what a great native son of Arizona...Joe was a (Mexican American) trail blazer like my grandfather and great grandfather (Arthur Van Haren, Jr. & Sr.)... I am saddened by this news.
