I wrote an article about Mr. Wong's family in Clifton, Arizona some 10 years ago. I wish I had the fortune to meet him in person to ask questions and learn more about his family. The Wong family has great stories to tell.

Uncle Joe was larger than Life.
Most cherished memories of Uncle Joe were in the 1960's when my brother Lee and I visited one summer and stayed with Uncle Joe, Auntie Lilly and Judy. Uncle Joe was a great cook, musician, and a great uncle. He took us out by jeep to the desert to camp, and to Lake Powell to fish. He was kind and patient as he shared his skills and knowledge in the intricacies of camp life or nuances of landing a fish. I enjoyed being around him all the time, but it...

I spent many a summer day at Mr. Wong's home duing the late 50's and early 60's both Joe and Lili treated me as another son both with love and kindness and an occasional lecture on life. I was invited to the house to play games with Joe's late son Jeffrey and daughter Judy, great memories.

I remember meeting Joe Wong many years ago (in the 1980's) while working for the City of Houston's, Assisted Housing Program. Joe was one of the first architechs that stepped forward to submitted a housing proposal during Houston's recovering housing market. The program was difficult and filled with government "Red Tape". Joe showed patience, wisdom and understanding in dealing with bureaucracy. By the time we closed the deal Joe became my charished friend. May God bless his family in...

Joe was a great friend who introduced me and my wife Thomasena to many places and people in Scottsdale. He encouraged and supported many causes that were lost to others but successful because of Joe. Gene Grigsby

Many years ago when the Wong famly lived in Clifton, they were friends with my Grandfather, A.C. "Ike" Stanton and my father proposed to my stepmother in Mrs Wong,s (Mother, Grandmother) restaurant on the East Side of Clifton in 1941. I remember my family's fondness for the Wong family and I want to express my sorrow to them about Joe's death. Sandra Stanton Cotey Clark
