Hi, I knew Jared and Jadyn from elementary and my sister grew up with Chase in middle school and high school. I never thought that this family would go through something as tragic but I guess things happen for a reason..... I will keep the family in my prayers

Until i met joel about 6yrs ago i thought i was the proudest dad and coolest.i would sit by him and we would talk about our kids, and through the yrs i can say joel was a very proud daddy one who never stopped talking about his kids and he was super cool.and what i really enjoyed is he did not refer to his wife as carolyn but as sweetheart,he was an awesome guy.

Joel, I will forever miss you on OUR birthday! God speed, my friend..

Chase, Jaydn and Jared - you guys are the best. When you miss him, just know that he's right there beside you... he will always be in your heart.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. We have known the DeWitte family for 6 years because our boys played baseball together. Joel has been around so many children and has helped out with baseball since I have known him. He will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathy for Dewitte family.

Carolyn, I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. I love you all. It was really good seeing you and your beautiful children. Chase is growing into a handsome young man, Jared is still my Gerber baby, and Jadyn has always been a pretty little lady.
