Not sure what to say?

When I was first diagnosed with dystonia in 1986. ...I was lost and confused..the first few doctors told me it was all in my head or it was a psychological disorder. I knew in my heart they were wrong..I drove down from wisc to Chicago and walked into that support group. Joel was the first person I met . He held my hands and said it'll be ok. I never forgot that kindness and have tried to pay it forward like Joel did to me. He thought I was kidding when I said my brother played on the...

I just heard about Joel's passing. He was a truly wonderful person. He made everyone he met fell like they were special. He was at every community event, and seeing him there made it even more special. He will be missed.

I loved him, I loved his hugs whenever I saw him, I loved hearing him yell, "Barb Johnson" when he spotted me. Beth, I´ll treasure the memories I have of your dad. My love and sympathy to you and Steve.

Beth is my friend, and was my very good friend in junior high. I used to go over to her house to hang out, and Joel would tell me to bring my softball glove. Before Beth and I could hang out, Joel and I would play catch. He used to come watch me play in "Skokie Youth." When Facebook came around, he used to comment, "How´s my favorite softball player?" This is one of my greatest memories.
