Not sure what to say?

So sad to hear that my cousin Joel Finn passed away. I used to visit him in Syracuse and remember he was very intelligent and kind. My condolences to his family Marlene Zimbal my mom was Betty Finn Zimbal and Joel´s aunt.

Sorry to hear of Joels passing, he was good friend in our racing days, we both loved Cooper race cars and had a Cooper Monaco which we had owned before, always saw him at Hershey car show, he was very active and lived a full life, will miss him.

Ann,
I was in California for the winter months and just now learned of Joel's passing. I am not a car guy. I guess we bonded because of our mutual enthusiasm for collecting things (pianos, toy trains, old posters etc.).
Joel was unique and I loved having him as a friend. I also valued your friendship and I am sorry to hear that you have moved away. If you visit CT please consider visiting us. My new wife Jean Solomon is now quite involved with Waterbury, working on affordable...

I am so sorry to hear of Joel's passing. My deep condolences to the family and especially to his wife Ann who I worked with on a catalog on the painter John F Kensett. I remember Joel fondly back then in 2001 and his support of our project. My heart goes out to the family.

Joel was an extraordinary person. Although I did not know him well, our periodic encounters always left me impressed. My condolences to Ann and family. FJ

Yesterday I started reading Joel's remarkable book, " Bridgehampton Racing : From the Streets to the Bridge. I read parts of various chapters to take as much in quickly as I could. The accumulation of photo's is truly amazing. Today I went to search out Joel to thank him for his effort in this project and sadly learned of his recent passing. Too bad our paths never crossed. RIP with condolences sent to the family.

What a pleasure to see Joel and Ann at the vintage race venues. Always an interesting race car and chat about the history. We admired his depth as an historian as well as his driving abilities. It was a very special era. We shall miss him greatly.

Dear Ann Smith

Being retired, I was scanning the Voices newspaper today and saw the news about Joel. I wanted to send you my love and condolences on his passing.

It was always my treat to see you in my office these past 3 decades. I loved hearing about the travels and the book writing and the vintage automobiles and your trips together. You were a wonderful wife and a devoted caregiver.

I hope our paths cross again in the future.

Shalom,
Fred

As a consummate car man, Joel was always in high gear as he brought his incredible energy into The Pantry during his frequent morning visits. I remember being amazed at the speed he could hit in the Simplex as we cruised down Bee Brook Road. I learned a lot from Joel's spirit and how he refused to give in to roadblocks when life presented them.

All of his friends at The Pantry will truly miss him.
