Not sure what to say?

Emily, Ellen and Eve: I spoke of your Dad to a friend just this morning. We shared `special´ times together. I will always remember those times and Joe. Hope you are all well. Ed Nash.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of both Joe and Beth. I have such wonderful memories of the times our families spent together. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Family: Joe and I served together in Company B, 3D Reconnaissance Battalion in Kaneohe, Hawaii and ChuLai, South Vietnam from 1964 till1966. Joe, Dan Leary and I were platoon leaders in "B" Company at ChuLai. We talked regularly through the years and enjoyed catching up at the various reunions we attended through the years, most recently in Las Vegas in `19. Please accept my wife, Jeanne´s, and my condolences at Joe´s death. He is missed and remembered. Sincerely, Ed Nash "Semper Fi"

Joe and I served together in “B” Company, 3D Reconnaissance Battalion during our time in Hawaii and our deployment in Vietnam. We have been friends since then in spite of living some distance away. Our contact at USMC reunions and our phone calls on the Marine Corps Birthdays have been special times. His friendship has been special and he will be missed.
SEMPER FI MARINE!

Joel Gardner was a great guy and wonderful fellow golfer. So I got to know Joel through the weekly golf outings at LGCC. He was a regular as well as myself and we got to play together quite a few times over the years. I always enjoyed his comradery and dry humor. When you saw him on the pairing sheet you know you were going to have fun win or loose. I remember his " natural swing" technique, not sure were he got it from, but it sure seemed to suit him and his personality. Joel was good guy...

I called him “grunt” (a term that makes all Marines proud) and he called me “Boats”( a Navy term for Boatswain Mate). I’ll miss him and his wonderful sense of humor. RIP Grunt!

Always enjoyed playing with golf with Joel at Loudoun golf club♂ Semper Fidelis Colonel.
