Nelson Funeral Home Obituary

Joel Ramon Hamilton, 42, of Park Ridge, Illinois died August 10, 2023.  Joel was born in Richmond, Virginia on June 28,1981 and graduated from the University of Tennessee.

Joel was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Billie Hamilton, Orville P Hamilton, Paul C Hanson and his father-in-law, Glenn Babb Rawlings.  He is survived by his wife Anna, his daughters, Mackinsey Sarah (11) and Clara Ann (6), his parents, Jim Hamilton, Janet Claro and Fernando Claro, his sister, Tricia Atkins, her husband Jimmy, and children, Fischer, Gracie-May and Hudson, his grandmother, Athene Hanson, his mother-in-law Sarah Rawlings and brother-in-law Glenn Babb Rawlings, Jr and his wife Carrie and children Sam, Beau, and Abby. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family.

Joel was a kind, caring man, with a quick wit and great sense of humor.  He was a loving father who always told his girls how pretty they were and how much he loved them. He passionately rooted Mackinsey on when she was on the softball field and Clara kept him laughing with her antics that were very “Joel-like”. He was a successful print broker for Lowitz and Sons and loved by his colleagues in the printing industry. Joel was one of the most passionate University of Tennessee fans and the whole neighborhood would know when Tennessee made a great play. He loved bass fishing and spending time with his family on the water.  He volunteered as a fishing guide for the Oconoto River Kids, a local volunteer group that supports children with severe illnesses by providing fishing and hunting opportunities.

Services will be held on Sunday, August 13, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at South Park Church, 1330 Courtland Ave, Park Ridge Illinois, 60068.
