Joel Karp

I first met Joel in Korea and we stayed in touch upon his return at jazz concerts and other events. We had a lot of nice visits during times when he was hospitalized. He was a person that you could talk to for hours and always learn something new. And he was UPBEAT! Even when battling his cancer. I had fallen out of touch for the past year, and am very sad to only just learned of his passing. The world was a better place for Joel.

Joel was the unique kind of person who always made you know that you were important to him, and that you were always welcome. Whether visiting him in South Korea or Silicon Valley, spending time with Joel was always special for me. I will miss him greatly. May his memory be a blessing.

Joel was an interesting friend. He contributed significantly to the early semiconductor industry.

Joel was a honest friend and will be really missed. One could not ask for a better friend.
