Not sure what to say?

It's been several years now since Joel left us for a better place, but I think of Joel often. Whenever I see a Karmann Ghia (especially yellow), a fuzzy red caterpillar plant, the word "Boo," which was his friendly gesture when passing me in the hallway at work, when something needs to be built at work that requires tools, and when I'd just like to stop into his office for a friendly chat about almost anything. I miss his greeting when I walked into his office, which was "Oh oh, what did I...

I had not heard from Joel for several months and when he did not answer my recent email, I did a computer search for his name. I was totally shocked to find his obituary.

I worked with Joel for many years at Trilogy/Comsys consulting. We worked on many of the same projects and I grew to rely on both his competence and thoroughness in his work. We spent a lot of time together after hours discussing career and life in general. I was 20 years his senior and would offer him advice...

I worked with Joel at Trilogy Consulting. After hearing all of the wonderful stories about Joel today I can honestly say that my one regret is that I did not get to know him better and learn more about him. It is my hope and prayer that people will have the same kind words to say about me one day when it is time for me to leave this earth. My condolences to the entire family.

I hadn't seen or talked with Joel for a couple of years, but it always comforted me to know he was making his walks around the neighborhood. I will miss knowing his easy presence is there on thos Milwood sidewalks. He will be missed. Pam @ Dr. Carls office

My sincere sympathy to Joel's family. I have enjoyed working with Joel at IA over the past 5 years. He was always willing to help out; teaching me something new in programming or helping to hang a picture up in my office. He always had a positive attitude and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be dearly missed at IA.

With many thoughts and prayers,

Joel was a wonderful soul. We will miss him greatly.
With heartfelt sympathy,

I had the privilege of working with Joel when he volunteered with the WMU Alumni Association. He was such a loyal supporter of his alma mater. While I have not seen Joel in several years, I will always remember his keen mind and quirky/fun sense of humor. You have my sincere sympathy.

Joel had a gentle and unique sense humor that always made me laugh. He was so easy to talk to and always fun to work with. He was such a positive part of our group at IA. I will miss Joel greatly. Kathy Shorb
